Complete Your Smile
When it comes to living with missing teeth, the negative effects can range from problems with eating and speaking to a drop in your self-confidence. At River Birch Dental, we don’t want patients’ oral health and smile appearance to suffer due to lost teeth, which is why we offer dental bridges as a convenient solution to restoring your smile’s natural beauty. Discover why dental bridges are a trusted solution to tooth loss by reading our guide below.
What Are Dental Bridges?
Dental bridges are designed to bridge the gap between one or more missing teeth, hence its name. They’re known to be more stable than dentures and don’t require invasive surgery like dental implants. Bridges are made up of natural-looking prosthetic teeth called pontics. These pontics rely on your adjacent teeth on each side to support the restoration. The bridge restoration restores your bite and helps keep the natural shape of your face.
Dental Bridge Benefits
In addition to restoring your smile and boosting your self-esteem, dental bridges also improve your oral health. There are many unique benefits that come with receiving a dental bridge, such as:
- Can last up to 15 years
- Completed in two appointments
- Minimally invasive procedure
- Prevents your surrounding teeth from shifting out of place
- Restores your ability to eat and speak
- Decreases the wear and tear of your surrounding teeth
- Prevents jawbone deterioration
- Maintains the shape of your face
- Restores your bite
Our Dental Bridge Process
The entire dental bridge process is simple and can be completed in two visits to our Centuria dental practice. Your initial visit will consist of Dr. Vargas preparing your anchor teeth by gently removing a small portion of the enamel. We’ll also take detailed impressions of your teeth in order to create the perfect custom bridge for you.
Once your custom bridge is ready, typically about two weeks after your first visit, you’ll return to our Centuria office. Dr. Vargas will check to make sure the fit and appearance are exactly how you want it before fixing the dental bridge into place. After it’s secure, you’ll walk out of our office ready to show the world your beautiful smile.
Frequently Asked Questions
While dental bridges are designed with highly durable porcelain, they’re not permanent. Bridges can typically last between 10 and 15 years. If you maintain pristine oral hygiene and regularly visit Dr. Vargas biannually for routine checkups and cleanings, your bridge may last longer. Just make sure you’re brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing daily to maximize your treatment.
The cost of your dental bridge restoration will vary depending on your specific treatment plan and the condition of your oral health. Medical insurance typically covers a portion of dental bridge treatments. We recommend checking with your provider for more specific details about your coverage to ensure you’re receiving the maximum amount of benefits.
